Mental support

Finally finished our creative promotion assignment and are printing it right now. Or that is, Hege is printing it while I’m simply mental support through Skype, a program quite useful for students studying abroad. We’re not just finishing an assignment, but an entire unit and that feels good in these stressful times. A bit of weight is lifted of our shoulders and gives us time to breathe before we find some more to put on that is.

Enough rambling. I bet you’re curious to see some of our work. We were up all night working on different parts of the project and managed to finish our online portfolio, which is actually responsive. We recently learned how to create a responsive web design through our Online Advertising unit, though it was a bit easier whit help from teachers and co students. Somehow we still got it up and running. You can visit our site here and feel free to let us know what you think.

The great thing about responsive design is that it makes it easier to create a website that can be visited by all devices without having to create a design for each and one of them. I find it really annoying having to choose between original site and mobile site, especially when the content on the two are different. What do you think? If you’re interested in responsive design, take a look here.

Sunday is workday like every other day

So, the creative team promotion is coming together bit by bit. Since last time Mariann travelled back home to Norway for a week, and I ‘m left alone in the apartment. But it is going great even though it’s a bit boring without my roomie.

I’ve not just been working with the promotion task. I’ve been working with my creative project too. I’m soon finished with the first part of the project and I‘ve written 5000 words about Interactivity in advertising and how you could build up a relationship between brand and consumer using interaction. The next step is to edit the text down to 3500 words. The second part of the project is to find a client and make a campaign. The next couple of days I’m going to brainstorm like a maniac and come up with some ideas for two different clients, and then I’ll decide which one I want to run with. I’ll come back to you when I have decided.

As I said, the promotion part is coming together. The plan is to print out everything tomorrow morning. Until now, we’ve made this blog, an animation film that will be the introduction on our website and some other things.  I won’t tell you everything yet, but you will get to see it in the end. However I have permission from my roomie back in Norway to show you our logo.

What do you readers think?

No pressure

This is our first blog post here on TinyGiantcreative so we better make it a good one. No pressure then.

Today we’ve been working on our promotional project to promote our self as a creative team to the advertising industry. Hopefully some art director in New York will spot us and we’ll be on our way to the capital of advertising. In the meantime we’re working to get our portfolio online. We‘re already well underway with designing logo and making a responsive website to host the portfolio. It’s important for us that the website is responsive so people can visit it on all devices (and so we can show off our new learned skills). But it’s also a challenge to get things where you want them to be.

In addition to the website and this blog, we’re creating an animation to promote our self. It’s not finish but it’s getting somewhere. Hopefully where we want it to be.

A tiny sneak peek from the animation.

Tomorrow morning we are meeting up with our simulated agency, Friplet, to share concepts for a brief that was given to us from the ad agency Five by Five. In other words, we better get some sleep.
